The customer is one of the most prominent and respected research universities in the world, featuring top-ranked academic programs. Based in the U.S., they are comprised of several schools and colleges, and have been an innovator in higher education and a leader in global education.
The customer used a legacy warehouse with 130,000+ objects, data from their ERP, legacy systems, and smaller apps, and 100+ system and power users. Data originated from different areas such as SIS, HR, finance, financial aid, and custom feeds from various schools and vendors. The systems were complex and difficult to troubleshoot because of the underlying older technologies. There was high process and data duplication across UDM and UDW systems, escalating operational costs. The customer wanted a modern, cloud-based solution to improve process efficiencies and reduce costs.
