Mandatory Skillset:

PostgreSQL, ORACLE 11g, 12c; Analysis of Trace Logs and Reports like AWR, ASH & ADDM; Putty; PowerShell and Unix shell scripting

Professional Experience:

Handful experience in database administration, information technology, database architecture, or a related field

Oracle certifications preferred (DBA)

Experience with Linux, Windows Server, Virtualization, and Hyperconverged environments

Extensive experience with database technologies (MySQL, MS SQL, PostgreSQL Oracle, MongoDB)

Familiarity with database design, documentation and coding; Knowledge in pl/sql scripting, stored procs, SQL, query tuning, etc

Maintain the database using different utilities. This includes using like pg_ctl and psql for Postgresql.

Build and Maintain database systems of high availability and quality depending on each end user’s specialized role

Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses

Provide proactive and reactive data management support

Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards

Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity

Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions for Fixing the bugs and Security issues when required

Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity and SQL

Installation of RDBMS software and creation of Oracle databases on windows/Linux platform

Maintaining physical and logical backups via user managed & RMAN backup recoveries

Checking Alert Log files for Internal Database Activity, DB related error

Creating users, allocation to appropriate table space, as with necessary privileges and roles for all databases

Upgrade oracle database using DBCA/exp-imp utility

Database performance tuning and configuring stats pack report

Disaster recovery and database restoration

Automation of routine tasks

Develop processes for optimizing database security

Recommend and implement emerging database technologies

Create and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards

Transparent communication and the ability to work with a diverse team and customers at all levels

The want to continually learn and expand knowledge/skills and will to share with the rest of the team

Good to Have:

Experience with cloud services (AWS, Microsoft Azure)

Data warehouse experience

Previous experience with DBA case tools (frontend/backend) and third party tools

Problem solving skills and ability to think algorithmically

Familiarity with SSAS, SSIS, SSRS

Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge
