Overview

Business leaders, product owners, scrum masters, and teams following agile software development

One key aspect of project management is to monitor the health of the project. By tracking progress, teams can learn from sprints and improve continuously. Usually, it is a daunting task to track progress and requires in-depth knowledge of tools & workflows. Instead of drowning in the details, this paper explains the key four parameters that can not only indicate project health visually but also point out issues.

These reports are like four health indicators. While this paper uses Jira examples, the concepts are universal and can be used with other project management tools used for Agile Scrum or Kanban methodologies.

The four key reports include:

  • Burndown chart
  • Velocity chart
  • Cumulative flow diagram
  • Control chart
